MSDF destroyer heads to Indian Ocean

SASEBO, Japan - The Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) destroyer Sawakaze sails off Sasebo port, Kyushu, on Feb. 13 to replace part of the MSDF fleet deployed in the Indian Ocean as part of Japan's support for U.S.-led military action against terrorism. The 3,950-ton destroyer will join two other MSDF ships that left their home ports Feb. 12.
