U.S. F-16 crashes into Sea of Japan, pilot safe
TOKYO, Japan - One crew member of a U.S. F-16 fighter plane was picked up by a Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) helicopter April 15 after the plane crashed into the Sea of Japan off Aomori Prefecture, northeastern Japan, earlier in the day. He was initially rescued by a local fishing ship. Photo was provided by the MSDF.
