Accountant gets 6 yrs in prison for 2.1 bil. yen tax evasion
NAGOYA, Japan - Tsuneo Otake, a 52-year-old certified public accountant, enters the Nagoya District Court building in Nagoya's Naka Ward on Sept. 4 to hear a court ruling in his tax evasion trial. The court sentenced him to six years in prison and ordered him to pay 500 million yen in penalties for evading about 2.1 billion yen in his own and his clients' income and corporate taxes. (Kyodo)
