Sanyo to sell 1st home-use liquid-crystal projector

OSAKA, Japan - Sanyo Electric Co. said Se@t. 12 it will introduce a home-use liquid-crystal (LC) projector (in handout photo) in October as the spreading use of digital versatile disk and high-definition television technologies has stimulated demand for such projectors. The new product, featuring a wide LC display with some 1.57 million picture elements, will mark Sanyo's entry into the market for home-use LC projectors. (Kyodo)

                      OSAKA, Japan - Sharp Corp. unveils the new model of its AQUOS series liquid-crystal display (LCD) TV at a hotel in Osaka on June 3. The LC-65GE1 AQUOS 65V-Inch Digital High-Definition LCD TV, which the company claims is the world's largest LCD model, will go on sale in Japan on Aug. 1 with a price tag of 1.68 million yen.
