Ex-lawmaker Tsujimoto indicted on fraud charge

TOKYO, Japan - Former Social Democratic Party (SDP) policy chief Kiyomi Tsujimoto (L, file photo) was indicted Aug. 8 on charges of defrauding the state out of 19 million yen in funds earmarked for secretarial pay. Masako Goto (R), who was policy secretary to SDP chief Takako Doi, was also indicted on the same charge. Goto had allegedly introduced the secretaries to Tsujimoto. (Kyodo)
