Microsoft teams up with Tron-promoting Japanese group

TOKYO, Japan - Susumu Furukawa (R), vice president of U.S. software giant Microsoft Corp., shakes hands with Ken Sakamura, a professor of information science at the University of Tokyo who invented Tron, at a Tokyo hotel on Sept. 25. Furukawa said Microsoft will join a Japanese consortium promoting the Japanese-made Tron operating system to develop new technologies for use in Internet-capable consumer electronics products.
