Tsujimoto gets suspended prison term for defrauding state

TOKYO, Japan - Kiyomi Tsujimoto (L), former policy chief of the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Masako Goto, who was policy secretary to former SDP chief Takako Doi, arrive at the Tokyo District Court to hear rulings on them. Tsujimoto was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for five years, for defrauding the state of funds earmarked for her secretaries while Goto was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for four years, for collaborating with Tsujimoto by introducing the secretaries to her.
