MATSUE, JAPAN - Shimane University professor Yuji Uchio and Nano Corp., a Tokyo precision instrument maker, have jointly developed a technology to treat a broken bone with a ''screw'' (in photo) made from the patient's bone, the professor and company officials said Jan. 6. The technology takes a bone piece as small as a peanut from a patient and processes it into a screw 1 to 5 millimeters in diameter. (Kyodo)
