Japan must debate capability to counterattack foreign missile ba
TOKYO, Japan - Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe tells his regular press conference on July 10 that Japan needs to promote debate and study on building the capability to counterattack foreign bases in the event of a missile attack on Japan. ''I believe it is necessary to conduct study and research (on the matter) constantly from the standpoint of what needs to be done to protect the Japanese people, land and state,'' Abe said. (Kyodo)
