New robot imitates movements of traditional 'bunraku' puppets
A prototype robot designed to imitate the bodily movements of Japanese "bunraku" puppets in expressing emotions demonstrates its moves to the press in Osaka, western Japan, on March 16, 2015. A team of researchers led by Osaka University of Arts professor Shinobu Nakagawa spent eight years developing the humanoid, with the help of renowned bunraku puppeteer Kiritake Kanjuro. (Kyodo)
