Publisher finds images of Tanizaki notes used to compose novel
Shunji Chiba, a professor at Waseda University, holds up an image on photographic paper of notes made in the 1930s by Japanese novelist Junichiro Tanizaki (1886-1965) during a press conference in Tokyo on April 2, 2015. Publisher Chuokoron-Shinsha Inc. said it has found a total of 255 images showing Tanizaki's process of trial and error between 1933 and 1938 in composing the novel "Sasameyuki" ("The Makioka Sisters").
