Expert examines raised coastline portion on northern Japan peninsula
Assistant professor Shintaro Yamasaki of the Kitami Institute Technology examines a portion of coastline that has risen by some 15 meters in Rausu on the Shiretoko Peninsula, a World Heritage site on the eastern tip of Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido, on April 25, 2015, to find the causes of the phenomenon.
