Japanese survivor of WWII mass suicide recalls lost family

Shinsho Kuniyoshi recalls how his eight family members died in Saipan due to World War II, either during a mass suicide or due to poor health conditions after being taken as prisoners of war. Kuniyoshi was interviewed in November 2014, in Itoman, Okinawa Prefecture, in front of the Cornerstone of Peace monument on which the names of the eight members of his family and others who perished during the battle are inscribed. Kuniyoshi also took part in the mass suicide but survived despite injuries. (Kyodo) ==Kyodo
