G-7 ministers vow to secure open Internet with private sector help
Japanese Internal Affairs and Communications Minister Sanae Takaichi attends a press conference in the western Japan city of Takamatsu on April 30, 2016, following a meeting there of Group of Seven ministers in charge of information and communication technology. The ministers agreed to seek private-sector involvement in policymaking to ensure an open Internet, in a move apparently aimed at countering government-led online restrictions in countries including China and Russia.
