Japan announces $30 billion investment in Africa as TICAD begins
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe delivers a keynote speech at the sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on Aug. 27, 2016, the first day of the two-day meeting. Abe said Japan will mobilize a total of $30 billion in private- and public-sector funds to invest in Africa over three years. (Kyodo)
