Chinese sue Japan's contractor Kajima over wartime forced labor
A bereaved family member of a former Chinese forced laborer at Kajima Corp. speaks at a press conference in Beijing on Dec. 6, 2016, after a total of 27 people, consisting of a survivor and bereaved families, filed a lawsuit against the Japanese construction company, seeking 1 million yuan ($145,000) in compensation for each plaintiff for forced labor during World War II. The plaintiffs said the former laborers were forced to work at Kajima construction sites in Japan's Gunma and Kagoshima prefectures in 1944. (Kyodo)
