Day after Japan expands coronavirus emergency to 7 more prefectures
A "takoyaki" octopus dumplings restaurant remains closed in Osaka on Jan. 14, 2021, a day after Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga declared a state of emergency in seven additional prefectures, including Osaka, amid the continued spread of the novel coronavirus. A sign posted on the restaurant's shutter reads closed indefinitely since Jan. 12 in response to the Osaka prefectural government's stay-at-home request to people amid the virus pandemic.
