the reconstructed Red line Opatov metro station Emergency Exit, mural art Flora and Fauna

Artist Ondrej Vyhnanek (not on photo) presented his new work of mural art Flora and Fauna decorating the reconstructed the Red line Opatov metro station Emergency Exit in Prague, Czech Republic, on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Mural art (on the photo of November 30, 2020) depicts stylized butterflies of the species Vanessa cardui (Painted Lady) and Tiger Lilies, which have a very similar visuality. The theme comes from the mysterious aesthetic of the microworld, mimicry principles and visual features of plants and winged insects. The painting is inspired by period book science illustrations, most notably the work of the artdeco artist Eugene Seguy. The orange-red color coincides with that of Metro C Line.
