This photograph depicts the village of Fujinoki (present-day Misaka-machi, Fuefuki, Yamanashi Prefecture). Fujinoki was a tenma-shuku (a post town where travelers changed horses) on the Kofu Basin side, leading to the Misaka Pass of the Kamakura Highway.
