Nunobiki Falls
The cylindrical stone structure on the right of the Medaki waterfall is a device to draw water from Nunobiki Dam located upstream. Since this facility was constructed in March 1899 to provide water to the city of Kobe, this photograph must have been taken at the end of the Meiji Period. This facility remains today along with Nunobiki Dam, which was completed the following year and later designated as a National Registered Asset.==Date:unknown, Place:Kobe, Photo:unknown, (Credit:Nagasaki University Library/Kyodo News Images) [Cabinet Number88‐4‐0]
