TEPCO shareholders ask firm auditors to sue 61 directors

              The government will provide power utility CEZ with a loan to fund the construction of a new nuclear unit at power plant Dukovany, Prime Minister Andrej Babis said at a press conference after Wednesday's talks of the Standing Committee on Nuclear Energy today, Thursday, May 28, 2020. Two out of three contracts between the government and CEZ concerning the new unit at Dukovany will be signed by the end of June, specifically the framework contract and the implementation contract, Industry and Trade Minister Havlicek said. The construction will be a turnkey project, Havlicek said.                 Japan Display Inc. (JDI) has finalized a new fundraising framework totaling over 100 billion yen. In addition to raising 80-90 billion yen from Ichigo Asset Group, an independent investment fund, JDI will also sell some of its facilities at its Hakusan plant (Hakusan, Ishikawa Prefecture) to Apple Inc. On April 12, JDI announced that it had reached a basic agreement with Ichigo Trust to raise up to 90 billion yen from Ichigo. Minoru Kikuoka, president of JDI, explained the purpose of the framework at a press conference on January 12, saying, "We will sell assets in order to enhance our capital and at the same time minimize the impact on existing shareholders through dilution.                   FUJIFILM Holdings (HD) announced on November 5 that it will make Fuji Xerox its wholly owned subsidiary in early November. The company will acquire 25% of Fuji Xerox's shares and its stake in its U.S. affiliates, and pay a total of $2.3 billion (about 253 billion yen) to Xerox. When Xerox fell into financial difficulties, Fujifilm HD announced in 2006 that it would acquire shares in Xerox and aim for a management integration between Xerox and Fuji Xerox. However, shareholders opposed to the acquisition of Xerox filed a lawsuit to stop the acquisition, and a U.S. court ruled to temporarily halt the acquisition, and the newly-elected management team of Xerox announced the cancellation of the acquisition agreement at the shareholders' meeting. As a result of Xerox's cancellation of the agreement, Fujifilm HD had filed a claim for damages, but has now given up on the acquisition of Xerox.
