Japanese hand-made paper shortlisted for UNESCO heritage status

SAITAMA, Japan - Teizo Takano, leader of a group of artisans producing "Hosokawashi" traditional Japanese hand-made paper in Saitama Prefecture, makes the paper in the village of Higashichichibu in the prefecture on Oct. 17, 2014. Traditional Japanese hand-made paper, including Hosokawashi, has been shortlisted by a UNESCO preliminary review panel for inclusion on its Intangible Cultural Heritage list, the Japanese Cultural Affairs Agency said Oct. 28.
