Tsunami aftermath in Rikuzentakata
RIKUZENTAKATA, Japan - Yukihisa Ojima, 39, who ran an electric appliance store in Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture, before it was swept away by a tsunami on March 11, 2011, looks for items used by his family members -- wife Noriko, 38, daughter Chihiro, 7, father Shoji, 69, and mother Kimi, 62 -- who were all killed in the tsunami, on the second floor of their home on April 17. The first floor was completely wiped away. Ojima, who also works as a volunteer firefighter, said he intends to remain in the city. (Kyodo)
