300-350 visitors pay tribute at Saddam's cemetery every day
AWJA, Iraq - An Iraqi man signs the visitors' book at the cemetery of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein in his home village of Awja, near Tikrit, in a photo taken Dec. 21. Saddam, who ruled Iraq for about a quarter of a century, was executed Dec. 30 last year. He was deposed following the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003 and later arrested by the U.S. military. About 300 to 350 people reportedly still visit Saddam's cemetery every day. (Kyodo)
