Union for ex-Nova teachers files report against new employer

OSAKA, Japan - A labor union for teachers who worked at the now-bankrupt language school chain Nova Corp. filed a report Feb. 15 with the Osaka District Court saying the teachers' current employer G.communication Co. has dismissed a number of staffers against its initial accord to rehire all. Photo shows foreign language teachers claiming in a gathering in Osaka the same day that G.communication has failed to write and sign employment contracts with the teachers in violation of the labor standards law.                     Labor unions seek indictment of Nova over delayed wage payment

                    OSAKA, Japan - Foreign teachers at English-language school operator Nova Corp. hold up placards demanding that Nova pay wages owed to them in front of the Osaka Central Labor Standards Supervision Office in Osaka's Chuo Ward on Oct. 16.
