NARITA, Japan - Oysters (photo) imported from China as fishing bait were sold in Japan as food for human consumption, police say. The police sent papers to prosecutors on the food trading company, Ichiban Boeki in Yokohama, and the company's president Tomohiro Tanaka for allegedly selling the imported oysters as food without state permission. Ichiban Boeki allegedly imported about 400 kilograms of raw oysters by air from China for use as fishing bait on Nov. 6, 2007. (Kyodo)
