Abe visits quake-hit areas, briefed by Wajima mayor

WAJIMA, Japan - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (R) being briefed by Wajima Mayor Fumiaki Kaji on April 13 about the wreckage wrought in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture by a major earthquake that hit the region on March 25. Abe says the government will designate the quake-hit areas as a disaster zone eligible to receive special state financial aid and subsidies for their reconstruction efforts. (Kyodo)
