New records show women coerced into prostitution in wartime

BERLIN, Germany - Dutch government documents made available May 11 by Japanese journalist Taichiro Kajimura (file photo) in Berlin show Japanese authorities abducted and coerced women into prostitution during World War II in occupied Indonesia. The evidence contradicts Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's recent remarks disputing such wartime coercion by the Japanese military that have stirred international controversy and drawn fire particularly from South Korea and China.
