Fukuoka firm to offer interpretation for World Cup visitors

FUKUOKA, Japan - Tisco Japan Inc. said May 2 it will begin interpretation services for foreign visitors traveling to Japan and South Korea before and during the World Cup soccer finals. Interpretation will be provided from Japanese into four languages, and from Korean to eight languages using a dedicated mobile phone and a special device rented at major airports in both co-host countries. A user needs to call Tisco's call center via the hands-free speaker phone and speak through the device to an interpreter at the center, who will offer interpretation services via the device. The phone/device kit costs 1,470 yen per day and interpretation services are offered at 390 yen per minute.
