PM Rutte Narrowly Survives No-Confidence Vote - The Hague
Dutch outgoing Prime minister Mark Rutte delivers a speech, on April 1, 2021, in The Hague, Netherlands, at the Lower house during a parliamentary debate about the countrys derailed process of forming a new ruling coalition following the election of last March. Rutte defended his leadership after notes on forming the new coalition government contradicted his statements to the press. He narrowly survived a no-confidence vote in parliament, after opposition party leaders accused Rutte of lying and called on him to resign as lawmakers debated confidence in him to form a new Cabinet.
