Japan gov't to decide on end of COVID-19 state of emergency
Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga bows after telling a House of Representatives committee session in Tokyo on Sept. 28, 2021, that the government will formally decide later in the day to terminate the state of emergency in Tokyo and 18 prefectures, as well as the quasi-state of emergency in other areas on Sept. 30, as infections have declined from their peak.
