TSMC plans to build chip plant in Japan in 2022

Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Koichi Hagiuda meets the press in Tokyo on Oct. 14, 2021, over Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.'s plan to build an advanced chip-making factory in Japan in 2022. TSMC CEO C.C. Wei unveiled the plan earlier in the day, saying the plant will start operations in 2024.
