The number of China-Europe freight trains has surpassed 15,000 in 2021, up by 22 percent year-on-year, making a new record. This means at least 40 China-Europe freight trains head for their destinations every day.
Horgos, known as a "millennium relay station" along the ancient Silk Road, serves as a major railway port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The first China-Europe freight train departed from Horgos in March 2016. Ever since then, cargo trains from across the country head for their destinations in Asia
