STORYLINE:
Researchers from Northwest University in China's Shaanxi Province, have developed a robot for rapidly scanning and modeling the exterior of cultural relics.
Using machine vision, mechanical arm and other technologies, the robot could surround cultural relics by 180 degrees to achieve automatic scanning, which could significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy, and avoid any damages brought to the relics by traditional methods.
