The three-day festival runs from July 1-3, attracting many tourists from home and abroad. According to the local tourism department, at least 70,000 tourists are expected to visit Loei during the event. The Thai government abolished the Thailand Pass registration and insurance coverage required of foreign visitors from July in a bid to revitalize the country's tourism industry.
