STORYLINE:
Le Le, the first giant panda cub born in Singapore, celebrated his first birthday on Sunday.
The male cub lives with his parents in River Wonders, Singapore's river-themed wildlife park.
Over the past year, it has grown from a 200-gram hairless infant into an over 33-kilogram furry and energetic bear, said the River Wonders in a press release on Friday.
A three-tier ice cake embedded with carrots, bamboo and edible flowers was presented by Le Le's care team at a media briefing held in the park on Friday morning as an early celebration for the cub.
Le Le was born to giant pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia on Aug. 14, 2021. The two arrived in Singapore in 2012 on loan from China.
