The data, which will be confirmed on Sept. 13, ends a run of three consecutive months of price rises, although inflation remains in double-digits. The INE says August's slight fall in inflation is mainly due to a drop in the prices of gasoline and other liquid fuels, which offset increases in the cost of electricity, food, dining in restaurants and bars, and holidays.
