That's according to data revealed by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Friday. The growth quickened from a 2.7 percent increase registered in July. Meanwhile, in the first eight months of this year, China's value-added industrial output, an important economic indicator, went up 3.6 percent year on year.
