In September, the rice in the fields of Pahatikri Township, Kashgar in China's Xinjiang becomes ripe. Around 10,000 mu (667 hectares) of saltwater rice has grown well and the yield is estimated to reach 600 kg per mu.
In 2018, the salt-tolerant rice strains were brought here by researchers from Shenzhen.
