Turkish security forces detained 343 illegal migrants in 19 separate operations in Türkiye's western province of Izmir between Sept. 11 and 19, the state-run TRT TV reported on Wednesday.
Six suspects allegedly involved in human trafficking were also detained by the gendarmerie forces, said the report.
The migrants were caught in eight districts across Izmir when they were preparing for illegal entry into Europe, reported the TRT TV.
The captured migrants were transferred to a processing center, pending legal processing and possibly deportation, the Demiroren News Agency (DHA) reported on Wednesday.
