STORYLINE:
Hong Kong registered 5,387 new cases of COVID-19, including 156 imported cases, data from the Center for Health Protection (CHP) showed on Friday.
Among the 5,231 locally transmitted cases, 1,315 were confirmed by nucleic acid tests, with the rest recorded through self-reported rapid antigen tests.
On Friday, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region John Lee said that beginning from Sept. 26, Hong Kong will end mandatory hotel quarantine for travelers arriving from overseas.
The travelers will undergo three days of health monitoring at home or at a hotel of their choice, during which they can go out, but must take nucleic acid test
