Hurricane Roslyn made landfall Sunday morning on Mexico's Pacific coast as it turns Category 3, although it is expected to weaken soon, the National Water Commission reported Sunday.
The hurricane made landfall near the town of Santa Cruz in the municipality of Santiago Ixcuintla, Nayarit state, with a maximum sustained wind speed of 195 kilometers per hour.
The agency said the rainfall accompanying Roslyn could cause landslides, rising water levels in rivers and streams, as well as flooding in low-lying areas.
The National Civil Protection Coordination reported that the Federal Electricity Commission has reported power outages in the states of Nayarit and Jalisco due to the storm.
