Saturday marks the annual World Stroke Day.
Clinicians have found in a new study that removing blood clots within 12 hours after the onset of a stroke can noticeably improve patients' health and reduce death rates.
The findings by a Chinese team were reported in the New England Journal of Medicine on Oct. 13.
The efforts were led by researchers from the First Affiliated Hospital of the University of Science and Technology of China.
They conducted a randomized, controlled trial involving 340 patients with an average age of 66.5 at 36
