Self-driving vehicle runs in shopping arcade

A four-seat self-driving vehicle test-runs at a speed of about 5 kilometers per hour in a shopping arcade in Nagoya, central Japan, on Nov. 23, 2022. The vehicle, converted from a golf cart, is designed to increase convenience for shoppers and diners moving around in a commercial area.

The test was conducted using new LO-series cars on the track between Uenohara and Fuefuki in Yamanashi Prefecture, west of Tokyo. A maglev train service will start between Tokyo's Shinagawa Station and Nagoya in 2027.
