Argentine president arrives for 4-day state visit

Argentine President Carlos Menem inspects a guard of honor at the Akasaka state guesthouse on Dec. 2 after his arrival in Tokyo on Dec. 1. During his four-day state visit to Japan, Menem will confer with Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi on strengthening bilateral ties. The president is visiting Japan for the 100th anniversary of a friendship, commerce and navigation treaty between the two nations.
