Former Hokkaido Gov. Yokomichi one of 3 DPJ's top post candidate

SAPPORO, Japan - Main opposition party Democratic Party of Japan executive Council chief Takahiro Yokomichi, 58, is one of the three candidates in the DPJ top post race, which formally began on Sept. 11. The former Hokkaido governor is supported mainly by DPJ lawmakers who formerly belonged to the Social Democratic Party. The photo shows Yokomichi is being interviewed by the press in front of his home in Sapporo.
