Armitage proposes conditional time limit on airport use
WASHINGTON, United States - The photo shows Richard Armitage, a former senior U.S. defense official, who proposed in an interview with Kyodo News in Washington on March 31 that a time limit be conditionally set on the U.S. military's use of a planned airport in Okinawa to break the impasse over the relocation of a U.S. military facility in the southernmost Japanese prefecture. Armitage is an adviser to Republican presidential hopeful George W. Bush.
