Emperor greets well-wishers at palace
TOKYO, Japan - Emperor Akihito (C), who marked his 67th birthday on Dec. 23, greets well-wishers from the public at the Imperial Palace with members of the royal family. The emperor and Empress Michiko were joined in the event by Crown Prince Naruhito and his wife Princess Masako, Prince Akishino and his wife Princess Kiko and the imperial couple's daughter Princess Sayako, popularly known in Japan as Princess Nori.
