Suzuki arrives in U.S. for 1st season in major leagues
SEATTLE, United States - Former Orix BlueWave outfielder Ichiro Suzuki talks to reporters at Tacoma International Airport in Seattle on Jan. 9 ahead of his first season in the major leagues with the Seattle Mariners. Suzuki, who has a .353 career average in nine seasons with the Kobe-based BlueWave with 118 home runs, 510 RBIs and 658 runs scored, is the first Japanese position player to sign a major league contract.
