Telecoms start taking 'Myline' preferred-carrier applications
TOKYO, Japan - Telephone operators are busy Jan. 10 as carriers across Japan began accepting applications for a new, industry-wide service to be launched in May called ''Myline,'' which allows users to select their preferred carrier. As many as 2,000 calls, including inquiries, were received in the morning alone at the two Myline centers jointly set up by the 13 carriers, reflecting user interest.
